Donskoy cat gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9378125

The Donskoy is a hairless cat breed of Russian origin. This breed started in 1987 with the
discovery of a hairless cat in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don by cat breeder Elena Kovaleva.
It is not related to the better known hairless breed of cat the Sphynx, also known as the
Canadian hairless, whose characteristic hairlessness is caused by a recessive gene, whereas the
Don hairlessness is caused by a dominant gene.
The Donskoy was first officially recognized by World Cat Federation (WCF) in 1997, and by The
International Cat Association (TICA) in 2005. The standard of points describes the cat as being
medium sized and muscular, with large ears, almond shaped eyes and distinctive long, webbed toes.
They require frequent grooming, in spite of their lack of coat. Over-bathing can cause the skin
to become very oily.
The Peterbald breed was originally created by crossing Donskoy with Siamese and Oriental cats to
create a hairless cat of Oriental type. Matings between Donskoy and Peterbald are no longer
permitted.

English Cocker Spaniel dog gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9392525

The English Cocker Spaniel is a breed of gun dog. The English Cocker Spaniel is an active,
good-natured, sporting dog, standing well up at the withers and compactly built. There are
"field" or "working" cockers and "show" cockers. It is one of several varieties of spaniel and
somewhat resembles its American cousin, the American Cocker Spaniel, although it is closer to the
working-dog form of the Field Spaniel and the English Springer Spaniel.
Outside the US, the breed is usually known simply as the Cocker Spaniel, as is the American
Cocker Spaniel within the US. Due to the breed's happy disposition and continuously wagging tail,
it has been given the cute nickname "merry cocker". They can be also dominant and loyal to their
companion. Their health issues are typical for a purebred dog breed; however they are closely
associated with rage syndrome even though cases are really quite rare. The word cocker is
commonly held to stem from their use to hunt woodcock.

Cymric cat gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9378125

The Cymric is a breed of domestic cat. Some cat registries consider the Cymric simply a
semi-long-haired variety of the Manx breed, rather than a separate breed. Except for the length
of fur, in all other respects the two varieties are the same, and kittens of either sort may
appear in the same litter. The name comes from Cymru, the indigenous Welsh name of Wales, though
the breed is not associated with Wales, and the name was possibly given as an attempt to provide
a "Celtic"-sounding name for the breed. The breed's Manx bloodline originated in the Isle of Man,
though Canada claims to have developed the long-haired variant. The breed is called the
Long-haired Manx or Longhair Manx by some registries, and has also been called the Manx Longhair.
According to Isle of Man records, the taillessness trait of the Manx
(and ultimately the Cymric) began as a mutation among the island's domestic cat population.
Given the island's closed environment and small gene pool, the dominant gene that decided the
cats' taillessness was easily passed from one generation to the next, along with the gene for
long hair. Long-haired kittens had been born to Manx cats on the Isle of Man, but had always been
discarded by breeders as "mutants". Then, in the 1960s, similar kittens were born in Canada and
were intentionally bred. This was the start of the increase of Cymric popularity. It took many
years for the Cymric to be recognized as a breed of its own by cat associations. The Manx was
recognized in the 1920s, but the Cymric was not shown until the 1960s and did not begin to gain
popularity until the mid-1970s.

Cheetoh cat gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9378125

The Cheetoh is a breed of domestic cat, derived from crossings between specific Bengal cat and Ocicat bloodlines. Being a new breed, it is rare. Because it is partly derived from the Bengal, a domestic–wild hybrid cat, the Cheetoh is itself a hybrid. As of December 2011, the only registry that recognizes the breed is The International Cat Association (TICA).

Doberman Pinscher dog gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9390286

The Doberman Pinscher or simply Doberman, is a breed of domestic dog originally developed around
1890 by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann. Doberman Pinschers are among the most common of pet
breeds, and the breed is well known as an intelligent, alert, and loyal companion dog. Although
once commonly used as guard dogs or police dogs, this is less common today.
In many countries, Doberman Pinschers are one of the most recognizable breeds, in part because of
their actual roles in society, and in part because of media attention. Careful breeding has
improved the disposition of this breed, and the modern Doberman Pinscher is an energetic and
lively breed suitable for companionship and family life.

Chausie cat gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9378125

The Chausie is a domestic breed of cat that was developed by breeding a few individuals from a
nondomestic species to a far greater number of domestic cats. The Chausie was first recognized as
a domestic breed by The International Cat Association (T.I.C.A). Within the domestic breeds, the
Chausie is categorized as a nondomestic hybrid source breed. Other domestic breeds in this
category include the Bengal and the Savannah. Because Chausies are mostly descended from domestic
cats, by about the fourth generation they are fully fertile and completely domestic in temperament.
They only look wild. Chausies should be tall, long, and lean, with very long legs and medium
boning. The torso is deep-chested with flat sides. The ears are broad, tall, and set high on the
head, about two fingers apart. The cheekbones are striking—prominent, long, and angular—and the
eyes are flattened on top and form a half oval below. The coat is short, and the cats can come in
three colors: solid black, black grizzled tabby, and black (brown) ticked tabby. Gold or yellow
eye color is preferred, though yellower and lighter shades of green are allowed.

California Spangled cat gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9378125

The California Spangled is a breed of domestic cat that was bred to resemble spotted wild cats,
like the ocelot and leopard. They were originally bred in the 1980s and were only ever a rare
breed, and usually expensive, priced between US$800 and $2,500. The popularity
of two other spotted cats breeds, the Ocicat and the Bengal, overshadowed their development.
Inspired by the poaching death of a leopard, the anthropologist Louis Leakey motivated Paul
Arnold Casey, Jr. of California to breed a domestic cat resembling a small leopard in order to
emphasize how important it was to preserve the leopard.
California Spangled cats are a crossbreed of many strains, including the Abyssinian,
American Shorthair and British Shorthair. Despite their wild appearance, they are completely
domestic.

Dalmatian dog gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9389235

The Dalmatian (CroatianDalmatinac, Dalmatiner) is a breed of dog whose roots are often said to trace back to Dalmatia, a region of Croatia where the first illustrations of the dog have been found.[1] The Dalmatian is noted for its unique black- or brown-spotted coat and was mainly used as a carriage dog in its early days. Today, this dog remains a well-loved family pet, and many dog enthusiasts enter their pets into the competitions of many kennel clubs.

Dandie Dinmont Terrier dog gear

http://www.cafepress.com/offthewall5/9389202

Dandie Dinmont Terrier is a small Scottish breed of dog in the terrier family. The breed has a very long body, short legs, and a distinctive "top-knot" of hair on the head. A character in Sir Walter Scott's novel Guy Mannering has lent the name to the breed, with "Dandie Dinmont" thought to be based on James Davidson, who is credited as being the "father" of the modern breed. Davidson's dogs descended from earlier terrier owning families, including the Allans of Holystone, Northumberland.
There are three breed clubs in the UK supporting the breed, although it is registered as a Vulnerable Native Breed by the Kennel Club due to its low number of puppy registrations on a yearly basis. The breed is friendly, but tough and is suitable for interaction with older children. There are no breed specific health concerns, but they can be affected by spinal issues due to their elongated body and the breed is affected by canine cancer at a higher than average rate.
